Redmond, OR – As travelers gear up for the busy Labor Day holiday weekend, the Redmond Municipal Airport (RDM) is sharing important reminders and practical tips to help passengers enjoy a smooth and stress-free travel experience.
Higher passenger volumes are expected throughout the weekend, which may result in limited parking availability and longer wait times at security screening checkpoints.
Travelers are encouraged to check real-time parking availability on the airport’s website at www.flyrdm.com. Current parking updates can be found on the message scroll at the top of the homepage. Passengers should plan to arrive at least two hours prior to flight departure, especially for early morning flights departing between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Important reminder: Airline check-in counters at RDM close 45–50 minutes prior to flight departure. Please allow yourself ample time to check luggage and proceed through security.
REAL ID Requirement & TSA Confirm ID Process
Beginning May 7, 2025, all U.S. travelers are required to present a REAL ID–compliant driver’s license or identification card, or another acceptable form of ID, for TSA screening on domestic flights. Passengers are encouraged to check their current ID for a REAL ID indicator (often a star symbol) and contact their local DMV early if an update is needed.
For travelers who forget their ID or present one that TSA is unable to verify, TSA may use the Confirm ID process—an identity-verification system that uses publicly available data to confirm a traveler’s identity. This process may take additional time, so having acceptable ID ready is the best way to ensure a smooth screening experience. More REAL ID and identification details are available at www.tsa.gov.
